‘Freedom to Pollute’ is a smaller replica of ‘The Statue of Liberty. The sculpture is more than 6 meters tall.

Smoke comes out of its torch every couple of minute and is a reminder of the Western World’s immense overconsumption and pollution that has caused the current climate crisis.

More information and pictures of the sculpture, focussing on its past usage at Johannesburg 2002 can be found here www.freedomtopollute.com

Freedom to Pollute is a part of SevenMeters.net. The aim of the initiative is to put focus on the consequences of global warming through various art installations, which will highlight the climate change from different angles.
